The Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) stands as India's premier national body for packaging. Founded in 1966 through a collaborative initiative by the packaging and allied industries and the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, our core mission is to continuously enhance packaging standards nationwide.
As an autonomous institution operating under the administrative control of the Ministry of Commerce, IIP is committed to fostering innovation, research, and development in packaging. Our extensive network includes our Headquarters in Mumbai, complemented by 7 Centres located in Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Lucknow, ensuring a pan-India presence to serve the industry.
IIP Bengaluru Centre: Empowering Packaging Innovation
The Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) – Bengaluru Centre is a dynamic extension of IIP’s nationwide presence, established to cater to the growing packaging needs of industries across various sectors. Strategically located in the Sompura Industrial Area, our Centre boasts a sprawling 4-acre campus. This expansive facility provides ample space for state-of-the-art laboratories, advanced training infrastructure, and robust platforms for industrial engagement.
Testing Capabilities: IIP Bengaluru is home to material testing, chemical laboratory, and a transport laboratory. Together, these facilities support over 10 distinct test capabilities. We cater to a diverse range of packaging performance evaluations, comprehensive material characterization, and essential compliance checks, serving as a trusted resource for industries.
Education and Industry Engagement: In alignment with IIP’s broader vision, the Bengaluru Centre is poised to become a vibrant hub for packaging education and innovation. Among these initiatives is our 6-month online Certificate in Applied Packaging (CAP) course, designed to equip professionals and entrepreneurs with specialized, industry-relevant knowledge. In the near future, we will actively host specialized training programs, insightful workshops, and impactful industry outreach activities, all aimed at promoting excellence and sustainability in packaging.
